Feb 2009 cash summary.

March 2nd, 2009

Ok, Feb 2009 - let’s summarise.

Things didn’t really change in terms of results at the end of the month. This time I broke even after playing nearly 18k hands (60% nl50 - 40% nl25).

Decided to play that nl25 at some point of the month - just to regain confidence. I did the trick but unfortunately just got it into very very slight green zone - but beacuse of the number of the hands I managed to get some 8 nl50 Buy Ins back compleating different bonuses and promotions.

15/12/4.3 means that my style didn’t really change since Jan - still trying to play solid ABC POKER. Slight increase in Pre flop Raise makes me feel that I’m heading into good direction.

Position-wise - no much changes as well.

To summarise,

I can’t be too happy with the start of the year. Party Poker wasn’t the luckiest place for me. In Jan I had hot start, but then lost it all - in Feb - I’ve lost big at the start and had to catch up to break even. I both cases the only profit I’ve made was thanks to completed bonuses.

Starting from March 1st I’ve been playing 5 handed 50nl on Celebpoker, partly because they offer pretty good 500$ signup bonus as well as 30% rakeback.

We’ll see in 4 weeks how it will work out for me.

Jan 2009 cash summary.

March 2nd, 2009

Better later than not at all. Didnt really have time to post these on time, but oh well - nothing to be really proud of.

Starting with Jan09. 13k hands (all nl50) - and finished pretty much even. If not the bonuses that gave me about 3 extra buyins, that month would be just terrible.

(click below img to enlarge)

My style in Jan wasn’t really different from the normal TAG I normally play - 14.5/10/3.5 (Flops seen/Preflop Raise/Agression factor).

Position wise - I probably should tighten up from the blinds, and loosen up on the button.

Feb summary in the next post.

Hard to make a profit when you are running that ‘hot’.
Above is just today, but unfortunately I’m getting sucked out on for last month or so.
For 28500 hands I played since 01.01.2009 the result is… -125$…

COOOOOOOOOOL, not.

KK vs TAG - out of position nl50

January 15th, 2009

One of the hands I’ve played recently and am really proud of.

Situation on the table

Villian - 11/10/2 (100), few hands ealier showed 55 (opening with a raise UTG), flopping a set and betting on every street to the river.

Before that he showed AA vs QJ on Qxx flop only calling his fishy (50/2/1) opponent’s 3 sucker bets (small, 1/2 pot ones).

As usuall I had some solid, Tag table image (14/11/3)
Party Poker No-Limit Hold’em, $0.50 BB (6 handed) - Party-Poker Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

saw flop

CO ($100.26)
Button ($17.10)
BB ($34.58)
SB ($76.42)
mic (MP) ($60.99)
UTG ($60.58)

Preflop: mic is MP with K, K
1 fold, mic raises $2, CO calls $2, 3 folds

Flop: ($4.75) Q, 3, 10 (2 players)
mic bets $3.39, CO calls $3.39

Turn: ($11.53) 2 (2 players)
mic bets $8.72, CO calls $8.72

River: ($28.97) 7 (2 players)
mic bets $12, CO raises to $86.15 (All-In), mic folds

Total pot: $52.97

I’ve used very popular BLOCKING BET technique on the river, knowing that if I’ll only check, my opponent will bet for sure, probably somewhere between 1/2 and 3/4 of the pot putting the pressure on me. I most likely would have to let it go then.. It’d be too much even for crying call…

Betting the river small, I took 3 scenarios in consideration: if my opponent had nothing, he’ll fold, if he’ll call and I’ll loose - it’d be ok, but at least I’ll get to see his hand and learn from it for the future But if he’ll shove, then I’m going to be 100% positive that I’m beat (or outplayed hehe).
The guy waited his entire time bank with the decision shoving on the last second.
For me - he had the nuts and was just trying to represent a steal with that long wait. I wish I had position in that hand…

Mid month summary

January 14th, 2009

Since I didn’t post anything at the end of the last month (holidays, sweet holidays) I decided I might just show a sneak-peak of ‘THE GRAPH’ for last 4.5 weeks.

To be honest, I’m playing my game (15/11/3) which is just about right for the lower limits I play. Unfortunately I took a hit the other day and lost some 4 buyins due to really unlucky events. But oh well, that’s just poker, and short term results doesn’t matter that much. It’s all about ‘the big picture’.
